Service Industry Kickball III

Kickball 2007 is a go!

This July 29th MonkeyBR.com presents its 3rd Service Industry Kickball Tournament. Restaurant vs bar vs restaurant dueling against each other in the ultimate sport, well at least in third grade it was.

Who's going to kick a homerun? Who's going to make that catch? Who's going to strike out (yes, it happens)? Will P.F Changs spend more time in the kiddie pool than playing kickball? What crazy cheer will Chili's have this year? Will the Varsity team their own security to stay out of trouble? Will Tsunami once again show their dominance in the game that is kickball?

All questions answered on July 29th out at Walk-on's. Our friends at Mockler and Budweiser will be there again this year to show the love.

So send us an e-mail to let us know that your bar or restaurant that you work at has a team. You can print out a sign-up sheet or a flyer to post from the links below.

Details

Cost: Advance - $13 per player, Day of - $15 (Collection of payment, sign-up sheet and signed waivers will confirm your team's spot on the bracket. There will only be 32 spots available. Last year we had 29 teams, so don't dilly dally around or you might just have to come out and only drink and watch other people make asses out of themselves)

Other Details: There will be awards for best Team Uniforms/Spirit, so get something together. You might want to bring some sunscreen as well. Last year we had lots of sunburned people. Skin cancer is not fun.

Each team is encouraged to create a sign with their team name/restaurant name (poster board will work). This is to let everyone know who you are and where you work.

Big news.

It's a go. The tournament will take place over 2 consecutive Sundays. That means the opening rounds will be on July 29th and then the later rounds including the losers bracket will be on Aug 5th.

This is very good for a few reasons. Each team will play at least 2 games. We won't have to shorten the game lengths. We won't have to worry about running out of daylight during the championship game. And maybe most importantly, 2 after parties!

Now keep in mind, this does mean that players may have to switch around some shifts at work to get both Sundays off. So start planning early enough you slackers.
