All That is Kickball

And the Winner is...

The team from Walk-on's had an epic 2 days of kickball having to come back from losing their 2nd game on Day 1 and having to win 7 (yes seven) games straight on Day 2, including a super-sized 2nd to last game of 10 innings.

And the Rest of Them...

2nd place-- . . . . .

Taking into account the last 2 years of kickball, the Tsunami Army has established itself as a force in kickball coming in 1st in 2005 and 2nd in 2006. They are kickball fiends.

3rd place--. . .

Being one of our service industry kickball rookies, they made a name for themselves quick

...the other 2 in the winner's final four -- J.L.'s Place and Uncle Earl's/Happy Note

...the other 3 in the loser's final four -- O'Charley's, Varsity, Vic's Chophouse

...the others with wins: Erik & the All-Stars (renamed from Avoyelle's) , Bonefish Grill, the Chimes, Chimes Street team, Galatoire's, Happy's/Roux House, Hooters (Seigen), Ninfa's, Outback (Gonzales), Sullivan's, T.J. Rib's, and the Bud Girls team

...and our winless teams, who really won because they got to the free beer faster: Brightside, Budweiser team, Capitol City Grill, Champp's, Chimes East, Juban's, On the Border, and P.F. Chang's

Get Some Pictures...

Thanks...

We, the monkeys, would to thank all of those who helped make the 2007 MonkeyBR.com Service Industry Kickball Tournament happen from the random person at the bar who offered suggestions to those brave souls who refereed. And here they are (at least most of them):

Mockler Beverage and Budweiser for setting the kickballers up with some drinks

Cari, our bracketologist, who gave us direction

Our brave referees who withstood some abuse from those who took kickball a little too seriously: from RSAK - Scott, Trevor, Brennan, Nick, Megan, and Chris and our non-RSAK refs - Hicks and Phil.

A special thanks to Scott and Trevor, the guys from RSAK, Baton Rouge's very own kickball league, who helped line the fields, make the games go a little smoother, provided refs, and offer some very helpful suggestions. (Contact RSAK at www.brkickball.com to sign up your team for the next league session)

Ryan, our official Kickball Tournament photographer. Check out his website and buy you some pictures.

Sheridan, our lovely and charismatic caretaker of the beer for the tournament. Also tons of thanks to her for helping to round up some teams and collect some prizes.

DJ Otto, the man who gave us a soundtrack for the tournament. If you see him listed to play at a bar near you, GO and DANCE.

Brandon, Tim, Bobby, Ray and the crew at Walk-On's

The helpers - Amy and Adam (assistant bracketologists), Jeanne (the shopper), the clean-up crew (Steve, Glen and Lauren and some of the Hooters Crew)

...and to all those others whom may have contributed in one way or the other...

Thank You
